Words

Is the glass half empty, half full, or twice as large as it needs to be?

Author Unknown

Inside my empty bottle I was constructing a lighthouse while all the others were making ships.

Charles Simic

Destiny is but a phrase of the weak human heart - the dark apology for every error.

The strong and virtuous admit no destiny. On earth conscience guides; in heaven God watches.

And destiny is but the phantom we invoke to silence the one and dethrone the other.

Edward Bulwer-Lytton
(1803 - 1873)

Permeance

You've found a chapter of my life. A closed one that involved a trip to Australia.

If you'd like to read through it, I've actually arranged it in reverse order so it can be read straight through from beginning to end.

I can always be found at www.getsoutmore.com

Cheers.

Sudden Realization

In 14 days I will be on a plane to the other side of the world.

I have about 4 things left to buy.

I have about 400 things left to do.

And I'm working 12 of the next 14 days. Two days off. One of which will be filled with the Run for the Cure

eep.

New Gallery Function

New gallery set-up for the trip and the future - it allows uploads of the full on HUGE pics and unlimited storage - no photoshopping things down to size before uploading to save on space. I've gotta say so far? I'm loving it - easy, inexpensive and looks good. I'm called www.myownboat.smugmug.com and there's also a link in the sidebar under Visual Logs.

Go take a peek, tell me what you think.

The Horror! The Joy!

Fact: it is unthinkable for me to travel without books. You should know this about yours truly at this juncture of our relationship.

Dilemna: equally unthinkable is to suggest for me to take 'a couple' and then 'rely' on 'finding' more... in fact, if you just even thought that in my direction, then get a butter knife and stab yourself. Repeatedly. On my horrified behalf.

Enter solution: my fabulouso 'new' MobilePro 780...

...and his tiny cute little buddy the compact flash storage card!

Now I know that 32mb sounds like *no* storage space at'all these days but packed on that teensy-weensy card is now 13 (count 'em) thirteen novels.

With space left over for even more.

So far....

-Lemony Snicket Books One to Four.
-Abduction, by Robin Cook
-The Davinci Code, and Digital Fortress, by Dan Brown
-Eastern Standard Tribe and Down & Out In The Magic Kingdom by Cory Doctorow
-Lord of Light and Jack of Shadows by Roger Zelazny
-The Conquest of Fear by Basil King
-and last, but certainly not least, Dave Barry's Only Travel Guide You'll Ever Need

If you can wade through the Russian, quite a few of the 7200+ books are in English over here at Fiction Book, god bless their hearts.

Imports from Rhode Island

One of my new travelling t-shirts arrived today from one of the few Life is Good affiliates that actually ship outside the Yew-nigh-ted Staaaytes.

Sometimes, it sucks to be a Canadian....

...but don't tell anyone I said that, eh?

These days, changes settling in, choices reinforcing their timing, chances taken paying inner dividends, every day, all days, almost every minute of every hour...

Yes.
